Honda Pays $24m for Loan Discrimination
Honda agrees to pay $24m and put in place new measures to resolve an action with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Department of Justice regarding its discretionary auto loan pricing and compensation practices. These practices discriminated against thousands of African-American, Hispanic, and Asian and Pacific Islander borrowers causing them to pay higher interest rates than white borrowers for their auto loans, without regard to their creditworthiness.
