FDA Warns Jimmy John's After Repeated Outbreaks

The FDA issued a Warning Letter or official reprimand to Jimmy John's after outbreaks of illness related to its sale of adulterated food including sprouts and cucumbers. Jimmy John's customers became ill from the presence of salmonella and e-coli. The FDA pointed out that following prior outbreaks in 2012 and 2019 and steps that were taken including destroying sprouts, the company had not provided adequate information to ensure that the outbreak would not happen in the future.
