Bail Bond Company Accused of Taking Advantage of Immigrants

A class action alleges that immigrants that are eligible for bond from detention centers are being taken advantge of by Libre by Nexus, a company that provides a GPS tracking device and bond services at an exorbiant rate. Immigrants with nowhere else to turn have been bilked at a rate of 20% over their bond amount owed plus fees and are forced to wear a GPS tracking device. The lawsuit alleges that the company's practices are deceptive and unfair under California law.
