At least 60 people in five different states have become ill from a strain of Salmonella Adelaide linked to pre-cut melons sold in plastic containers by retailers across the country, including Kroger, Walmart, Costco and Walgreens among others. The FDA, CDC, along with state and local officials are investigating the outbreak, and their traceback evidence indicates that pre-cut melon distributed by Caito Foods, LLC is a likely source of this outbreak. Caito Foods, LLC has voluntarily recalled their products. For more information on the recall, click here.
