Students File Class Action Following College Admissions Scandal

After dozens were indicted in connection with a wide ranging cheating scandal involving college admissions, a class action lawsuit has been filed by several students against the schools named in the scandal. The students alleged that they paid application fees to the schools believing that the admissions process was fair when it was not. Parents through the alleged scam paid to have special treatment, test scores on standardized tests and athletics for their children to get into certain schools. Several years ago class actions were filed against for-profit schools and law schools for inflating their employment rates post-graduation.
